A FreeIndexer alternative, after taking FreeIndexer apart
FreeIndexer's homepage is one textarea and a button. We took it apart in six layers, then checked what our crawl-based index says about freeindexer.com itself.
Our index holds 4,075 backlinks to freeindexer.com from 465 referring domains, first seen 2024-07-12 and last seen 2026-09-09. Our DR for it is 37. That is our own metric, not Ahrefs DR or Moz DA. Only 121 links (3.0%) are dofollow, and only 23 of the 465 domains pass one.
One referrer dominates. oldpcgaming.net supplies 875 links from 414 pages, 21.5% of everything we see. The top five domains together hold 1,719 links, 42.2%. The anchors are lopsided too: "freeindexer" 1,497 times, "Cheap Backlink Indexing" 533, "Backlink Indexing" 447. Many of the top 50 anchors are personal names such as "Carlos Vandawalker" and "Tristan Hoopingarner". The pattern looks like comment-author links on unrelated sites. We cannot say who placed them. The full report is open in the explorer.

Layer 1: the promise is a textarea
Open freeindexer.com and there is no hero image and no testimonial strip. The page is the product. A heading, a blue bar, a box for URLs.
The heading reads "Free Indexer V2.5". The blue bar reads "Your Points For Link Indexer = 50". Below the box sit a "Domain Indexer" checkbox and a choice between "Quick List" and "Full List". Full List is greyed out for guests, with an orange bar saying so. The button is "Process Now".
The sub-headline is the entire pitch, in the site's own words:
Free Indexer submits each one of your URLs “backlinks” to hundreds of statistical sites. This gives you too many backlinks or link pyramids. And get your URLs “backlinks” indexed by Google!
Note the verb. The tool does not report indexing. It submits, and it promises indexing as the result. The About page goes further and says "100% get your URLs “backlinks” indexed by Google!" No method, time frame or evidence sits next to that sentence.
Layer 2: the mechanism, as described
The homepage explains how it works in one paragraph. Your URLs go to statistical sites. In the site's words, those sites give a value to your URLs and provide a free link back. The site says this gets the URLs indexed by Google.
Whether a search engine follows any such path, and how soon, is up to the search engine.
The site gives three different sizes for the network:
- Homepage sub-headline: "hundreds of statistical sites".
- Homepage "How does it work?": "over 15,000 sites".
- About page: "over 300 statistic sites".
We do not reconcile these. We note that the list of sites is not published, so none of the three can be checked from outside. For a buyer, the practical question is not the count. It is which of those pages a crawler still visits.
Layer 3: the price list
Three monthly plans and one app. All prices below are as shown on freeindexer.com/pricing and /buy-app, in dollars, with no currency code.
| Plan | Price | Indexer / day | Background indexer / day | Backlinks (MIX) / day |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Silver | $5.00 | 10,000 | 500 | 1,000 |
| Gold | $15.00 | 10,000 | 1,000 | 3,000 |
| Platinum | $35.00 | 10,000 | 5,000 | 10,000 |
The indexer allowance is the same on every paid tier. What you pay for is the other two counters. The cards sit under "Monthly Plans" but the price cells do not say "/month".
The app is $10.00 once. The page says "One time payment with lifetime updates (NO monthly or yearly subscription)". A free account gets 1,000 daily points for the indexer.
Three things are not published: how many points one URL costs, what "Background indexer" does, and what "Backlinks (MIX Platforms)" does. Until those are known, 10,000 points cannot be turned into a number of URLs.
Layer 4: limits and blanks
What is stated: a maximum of 5,000 URLs per submission. Guests are capped at 50 points. The download page warns that Windows SmartScreen may be triggered, because the file is "still new and not recognized by Windows".
What is not stated:
- Who operates the service. No company, person or address appears on the site.
- When it launched. The domain was registered 2013-08-19. That is a registration date, not a launch date.
- Terms, privacy and refund pages. /terms and /privacy return 404.
- An API. /api, /api-docs, /docs and /developers all return 404.
- Any measured indexing rate.
The Help Center link leads to a page that currently lists no published articles. The contact page is a form. That is the public surface a buyer gets to inspect.
Layer 5: what a crawl sees of FreeIndexer itself
Here is the part a submission tool cannot show you: the link graph around it. We ran freeindexer.com through our own index.
| Referring domain | Links | Pages | Donor DR | Typical anchor |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| oldpcgaming.net | 875 | 414 | 40 | freeindexer |
| tax-mfm.com | 401 | 38 | 25 | Carlos Vandawalker |
| voicesofleaders.com | 186 | 50 | 35 | Tristan Hoopingarner |
| sallandsevoetbaldagen.nl | 182 | 42 | 34 | Stevie Bellman |
| acessocultural.com.br | 75 | 55 | 24 | Cheap Backlink Indexing |
An old PC-games site, a Dutch football-days site and a Brazilian culture site are not where one expects an indexing tool to be discussed. The name-like anchors fit comment-author links. That is an observation about the pattern, not a claim about who did it.
Another detail: the only sizeable group of dofollow links, 57 from 4mark.net, uses the anchor "https://freeindexer.com/process". That is the address the homepage form posts to. A plain GET to it redirects to the homepage.
Arrival came in waves. Of the top 100 referring domains, 20 were first seen in July 2024 and 62 between August and October 2025. Only 13 first appeared in 2026. Still, 47 of the 100 were last seen in August or September 2026, so most of this footprint is live.
Layer 6: reading the anchor mix
Anchors are the cheapest honest signal in a link profile. Here is the head of the list for freeindexer.com, out of 4,075 links.
| Anchor | Links | Share |
|---|---|---|
| freeindexer | 1,497 | 36.74% |
| Cheap Backlink Indexing | 533 | 13.08% |
| Backlink Indexing | 447 | 10.97% |
| FreeIndexer | 149 | 3.66% |
| Free Indexer App | 106 | 2.6% |
Two readings.
First, the brand-name anchors. "freeindexer" in its spellings is by far the largest group.
Second, the two keyword anchors. "Cheap Backlink Indexing" plus "Backlink Indexing" is 980 links, 24% of the total. Those are phrases a person might type to find a tool like this.
The product anchors also map to pages. "Free Indexer App" has 106 links, and 280 links point at an older /buy-app.php address. The live page is now /buy-app, so an older URL still collects links that a redirect, if one is in place, would carry forward. We have not checked that.
Is any of this good or bad? That is not our call. It is a description of what a crawl recorded, and the buyer can read it.
A worked example, with the blanks marked
This scenario is hypothetical. It exists to show the arithmetic you cannot do from the public pages.
Say you have 5,000 new URLs: the most one submission allows. Suppose, purely for illustration, that one URL costs one point. The pricing page does not say so. On the free account, with 1,000 daily points, the list takes five days. On a paid plan, with 10,000 daily indexer points, it fits in a day, twice over.
Now suppose a URL costs five points. The free account takes 25 days, and a paid plan with 10,000 daily indexer points takes three days. Five times the points for the same list, and the site does not tell you which world you are in.
The practical step is the cheap one. Register for free, submit a small batch, and look at the points counter before and after. That measures the real cost per URL in a minute.
The second blank is the result. Submit a batch of 50, wait, and check the donor pages. Our explorer shows how this works for the tool's own domain. Whether those links stay, and whether a search engine acts on them, is something you measure yourself.
Where FreeIndexer is the better choice
Stay with FreeIndexer when the job is pushing URLs. We do not do that. apibacklinks does not index pages, build links or submit anything.
- You have a list and want it submitted today. Paste up to 5,000 URLs and press the button.
- You want to try it for nothing. A guest gets 50 points, and a free account gets 1,000 a day.
- You prefer a one-off cost. The Windows app is $10 once, with no subscription.
- You live on Windows and like desktop tools. Select links, start a campaign, leave it.
Cheap and simple is a real advantage. A $5 plan is easy to test and easy to drop. Nothing in our index changes that.
Where a link-data API fits, and the verdict
Submission is half the loop. The other half is looking at the result.
With a tool like FreeIndexer, you send URLs and wait. With apibacklinks you can ask whether a crawl found a link: backlinks filtered by target URL, source TLD and last-seen date. Our data comes from our own web data, so a link that appears there was reachable by a crawler. A link that does not appear is not proof of anything, because our refresh is roughly monthly and coverage is a sample of the web.
What we cannot do matters just as much. No alerts, no new-or-lost report, no rank tracking, no indexing status for a URL. For the indexing job itself, our sister service IndexJump exists. For comparing indexers, see the indexer hub and the SpiderIndexer alternative page.
The simple loop: submit with a tool, wait a refresh cycle, then pull backlinks for the donor domains and see which ones appear. Free lookups need no key; the full list is in the docs.
The reassembled verdict
FreeIndexer is small, cheap and plain. The promise is large ("100%"), the site publishes no evidence for it, and the operator is unnamed on the site.
If you need submissions, use it, and test with the free allowance first. If you need to know what the web graph shows around a URL, query a link index. They do different jobs, and many teams will want both.
