A GoForPost alternative, taken apart layer by layer
GoForPost sells guest-post outreach behind a credit dashboard, and its hero promises 5000+ authority blogs while a counter lower down says 1000+. We opened it up, then looked at what the link graph says about the site itself.
In our index, goforpost.com has DR 29 (our own metric, not Ahrefs DR or Moz DA), 133 referring domains and 421 backlinks. Of those backlinks 220 are dofollow and 201 nofollow, a 52.3% dofollow share. Average donor DR is 26, only 4 of the top 100 referrers sit between DR 50 and 69, none is above, and there are no .gov or .edu referrers. our web index is a sample, so these are lower bounds.
The shape is more interesting than the totals. The number one anchor is a person's name, “Karan Sharma”, at 59 links (14.0% of everything), all nofollow. Add eight more names (Anurag Malhotra 15, sakshi mehra 13, Shanaya Malhotra 7, Arjun Malhotra 6, Kartik Singh 6, Shubham Sinha 6, John Morrow 6, Mathew 4) and you reach 122 links, 29% of the profile, none of them dofollow. The pattern, a name as anchor on a well-known blog pointing at the homepage, looks like a comment-form author link; we did not open every page, so treat that as an inference. The brand's own spellings are rare: “goforpost.com” 12, “Go For Post” 6. The biggest single referrer, wisebrows.com, gave 45 dofollow links from 42 posts with empty anchors, all seen over three days in July 2024 and not since. Open the free explorer report to see the rows yourself.

On the bench: a hero that says 5000, a counter that says 1000
The first layer of any teardown is the casing, and GoForPost's casing is a photograph of a wooden desk. A laptop, a notebook, a hand holding a pen over the trackpad. Across it, in white: “Guest Post Outreach Manager” and “5000+ Authority Blogs That Will Publish Your Guest Post.” The menu has eight items and no pricing among them.
Keep scrolling and the homepage runs animated counters: “1000+ Blogs”, “30+ Niche Available”, “100+ No. of Links”, “1200+ Hours of Research”. The footer adds “36 Total Post” and “9280 Clients”. We are not going to crown one of those the real inventory. The hero is a claim, the counter is a claim, and the two disagree by a factor of five on the same page. The honest reading is that the list size is not published in a form you can rely on, and that a buyer who cares should ask for a sample before paying.
That is the method for the rest of this page. We take the product apart in layers: the mechanism, the price, the terms, the evidence outside the site. Where a layer is missing, we say “not published” and move on. We checked on 2026-10-09 and the notes come from the site's own pages, a registry lookup and the link graph.
Layer one: the mechanism is a five-step dashboard and a pen
GoForPost's “How it works” page lays out five steps: registration, complete your profile, add credit, select a payment method, choose and buy a monthly subscription. After that you pick one of two modes.
- Manual outreach. You open the guest-post page, sort blogs by rank, industry category and cost in credits, choose as many as you like, pitch the owners yourself, and log the outcome (status, anchor text, link type, follow flag, live URL).
- Place an order. You pick a blog in the list and fill in a title, description, status and link details; the team writes and places the article.
It is a CRM with a catalogue bolted to the front. The catalogue is the asset: a sorted list of blogs you do not have to find yourself. The reports are described as system-generated and cover published outreach, articles sent, responses, published posts and rejected campaigns. Nothing says they can be exported.
The homepage says each link can be sorted by “different quality metrics” and the How it works page names rank, industry category and cost, but neither says which rank or metric is used. It could mean Moz, Ahrefs or an in-house score. That matters, because the number you sort by decides which blogs you pay credits for.
Layer two: the price is a sentence that stops
There is no price on the public site, in any currency. The /pricing/ address returns the site's 404 page. The FAQ entry “How much does it cost?” contains, in full, “Our services start at”, and then nothing. We are not saying anyone hid a number. It looks like a sentence that lost its ending. But the effect for a buyer is the same: you register first and learn the cost inside the dashboard.
What the site does publish is the unit system, and it manages to use two names for it. “How it works” says credit is “your virtual money in GoForPost”. The FAQ says the money you spend is called coins. The examples given are one coin for viewing a guest post and one coin for logging an outreach, with order costs and subscription costs varying by option. Subscriptions come monthly, quarterly or annually, and the dropdown example reads “monthly (200 credit)”. Whether 200 credits is a lot is unknowable, because the exchange rate is not published.
One trap for the careless reader: the page about blogger outreach shows a pricing table with €7 to €29 tiers, “380+ Templates Included” and lorem ipsum. That is leftover theme filler, not GoForPost's rates, and we have not used it for anything.
Layer three: the terms, read slowly
The FAQ is where the product shows its edges, and several of them are useful to know before you buy.
| Topic | What the FAQ says |
|---|---|
| Content | Written by their team, minimum 500 words per article. Your own content is allowed after a quality check. |
| Pre-approval | Not allowed. The reason given: it causes delays in turnaround time. |
| Links per post | Mostly one; GoForPost decides the number based on post length. |
| Placement | You can choose where your content is posted. |
| Permanence | Posts can be deleted if the owner removes them or abandons the site. No replacement window is stated. |
| Excluded niches | Adult, casino, drugs, firearms and illegally distributed products. |
| Cancellation | Within 30 minutes of ordering; no refunds after. |
Three of those deserve a second look. No pre-approval means you should expect to see the article only once it is live, so check the anchor text then. “Mostly one backlink” means a second contextual link is a negotiation, not a setting. And the permanence answer is candid but leaves out what happens next: a deleted post is mentioned as a possibility, and a guarantee period, if there is one, is not published.
Discounts for bulk orders and loyal clients exist, according to the FAQ, with no figures.
Layer four: what the web actually links to is the free stuff
A seller's own backlink profile tells you what the market values about it. Here is what the links in our index point at.
- The homepage, in five spellings: https://www.goforpost.com/ with 110, the same without the trailing slash 57, http://goforpost.com 8, http://www.goforpost.com/ 6 and https://goforpost.com 5. That is link equity split five ways.
- Blog posts: the email-marketing apps roundup has 26 dofollow links (plus 7 on the non-www version) and the social-media branding post has 24.
- Free lists: image-sharing sites 18, directory-submission sites 10, edu-submission sites 9 (those nine land on an address that is now dead, see below).
- The free Domain Extractor tool: 15, including a phishing-reporting guide on jeroengui.be.
- The commercial guest-post service page: 10 backlinks. The register page: 3.
So the site earns links with its free lists and tools, and the paid dashboard behind them earns very few. That is a perfectly normal funnel. It also explains the odd anchors. Eighteen dofollow links from 99graphicsdesign.com point at an image-sharing list URL carrying ?utm_source=chatgpt.com, with anchors like “RGB Web Tech+4Go For Post+4Mind Mingles+4”. That string has the shape of an AI-chat citation chip pasted into an article with its tracking parameter. If that reading is right, the free lists are what chat assistants surface.
There is also a dead end: nine dofollow links from maxonline.agency point at /high-da-edu-submission-sites/ on the bare domain, which today returns the site's 404 page while the real list lives under /list/. A redirect would point those nine links at a live page. We mention it because it is the kind of thing a data check finds in ten minutes.
Where GoForPost is the better choice
Plenty of buyers should stay with GoForPost, and the reasons are structural, not cosmetic.
- You want a list of blogs and a pitch workflow. apibacklinks has no blog list, no outreach tracker and no order flow. GoForPost has all three behind a login, and a manual mode for people who want to pitch themselves.
- You want someone to write and place the article. The order option does exactly that. We do not build, sell or place links.
- You do not want to build a view yourself. A dashboard with “status”, “live URL” and system-generated reports beats a JSON response if no developer is involved.
- You need a human. There is a contact form with Pre-Sales, Sales, Billing and Support departments, and a Skype handle. An API has docs, not a salesperson.
- You want free starter material. The submission-site lists and tools on the site need no subscription.
If your job is “get a post live on a blog I have not found yet”, GoForPost is built for that and we are not. What you can check from outside is the backlink profile of any donor domain on its list, and that is where our side comes in.
Bolt-on: vet the donor before you spend credits
Whatever list you buy from, the useful questions come before the order and after it. Our data answers both, within limits. The free domain and overview actions need no key and give you DR (ours), referring domains, dofollow counts and the top referrers, anchors and pages of any donor.
Before the order, take the candidate blog from the dashboard and look it up. A blog listed as an “authority” with DR in the 0–14 band and a handful of referring domains deserves a second look, whatever the dashboard sorts it as. For a shortlist of up to 2,000 domains, bulk_dr returns them in one request; compare lines up 20 side by side. Our DR is comparable in spirit to the metrics other tools show, not the same number, so pick your threshold on our scale.
After the order, ask for the live URL (the dashboard has a field for it) and check whether the link exists in crawl data. backlinks filters by source domain and target URL, and reports the anchor, rel and nofollow flag of each hit. index refreshes roughly monthly, so a link placed last week can take weeks to appear. Absence in the first month is not proof the link is missing.
This is a check, not a replacement. We have no new and lost links report, no alerts and no spam score. For the rest of the tool landscape, see the link-building tools hub; the Paidera page is a sibling comparison.
Reassembly: which parts you actually need
With the parts on the bench, the choice is simple to state. GoForPost is a catalogue, a CRM and a writing desk, with prices behind a login and an inventory figure that depends on which part of the page you read. apibacklinks is a lookup service: 181,132,097 domains, 2,774,625,913 domain-to-domain links, about 798.6 billion page-level backlinks, priced at 1 credit = $0.0001 with $100 of free credit on first Google sign-in. List calls cost 2 credits and return up to 1,000 rows, so inspecting a donor costs fractions of a cent.
The two do not compete for the same job, which is the useful part. Buy placements where you like the list. Use the API to price the donor first and to look for the link later. If you want the numbers in the profile above on your own screen, the API docs list all 19 actions.
