A Buy-PR.com alternative for the checking, run as a lab notebook
Buy-PR.com opens on a table of domains with prices above the fold and no slogan. We pointed our index at the shop itself, wrote down what came back, and noted how to check any listing before paying.
Our index knows buy-pr.com as DR 38 (our own 0-100 metric, not Ahrefs DR), with 580 referring domains and 5,782 backlinks, 99.2% of them dofollow. First seen 2024-07-12, last seen 2026-09-09. The average referring domain has DR 15, none of the top 100 reaches DR 50, and zero referrers are .gov or .edu.
The shape matters more than the totals. The anchors "Buy-PR.com" (1,182) and "Buy at buy-pr.com" (1,174) are each about a fifth of the profile, and one domain, vsestanki.com, sends 1,231 links. You can open the same report in the free explorer and check each figure.

Page 1: what is on the bench
The Buy-PR.com homepage has no hero and no slogan. It opens on a green box with two dated lines (2026-09-30, 120+ new domains; 2026-09-23, metrics and prices refreshed for 2,500+ domains), then a table headed List of domains. The first row is coach-outletstore.name at $65.00. That is a shop that lets the inventory do the talking.
One correction before any experiment. The bucket this page sits in says seller, but Buy-PR.com does not sell link placements. It sells the domain names themselves, each with the backlink figures that came with it. The Terms call it "an online marketplace for domain names", and the FAQ lists the main uses as building PBNs, redirecting to main sites, residual thematic traffic and selling links. So the useful alternative to look for is not another seller. It is a way to check a domain's links yourself before the money leaves your account.
Hypothesis. A shop whose product is backlink metrics should have a backlink profile that tells us something about how it works.
Method. Three free calls against our index on 2026-10-08: overview, refdomains and anchors, all on buy-pr.com. No key needed. Everything below is read from those responses, plus the shop's own public pages.
Experiment 1: the headline numbers
First the plain readout, copied into the notebook as it came back.
| Measure | Value |
|---|---|
| DR (ours) | 38 |
| Referring domains | 580 (560 dofollow) |
| Backlinks | 5,782 (5,735 dofollow, 47 nofollow) |
| Average referrer DR | 15 |
| .gov / .edu referrers | 0 |
| Referring TLDs | 27 |
| Distinct anchors | 44 |
Observation. A DR of 38 sitting on an average donor DR of 15 is a wide, shallow profile: many small referrers, none of them heavy. The top 100 referrers split 48 / 48 / 4 across DR bands 0-14, 15-29 and 30-49, and nothing above. The shop also keeps a catalogue called "Domains with GOV/EDU backlinks", yet its own profile in our data has no government or education referrer at all. That is not a contradiction. A shop that sells stock does not need to resemble its stock. It is simply a detail we did not expect.
Note to self. Our DR is computed from referring-domain counts in our own graph. Buy-PR.com's table shows Ahrefs DR for its listings, and those are different numbers from different crawls. Never put the two in one column.
Experiment 2: the stock links back
The anchor list has only 44 entries, which makes it easy to read. The top of it:
- "Buy-PR.com" - 1,182 links (20.4%)
- "Buy at buy-pr.com" - 1,174 (20.3%)
- "Buy this domain." - 640 (11.1%)
- "Diese Domain kaufen." - 172 (3.0%)
Add the Finnish "Osta tämäverkko-osoite." (44, missing space and all), French "Acheter ce domaine." (24), Dutch "Koop dit domein." (18) and the Swedish and Spanish singles, and the for-sale-banner family comes to 2,079 links, 36.0% of the profile. In the top 100 referrers, 58 carry "Buy at buy-pr.com" as their main anchor.
Mechanism check. We opened minishorts.net, which is in the shop's catalogue. It shows a lander titled "minishorts.net - Domain for Sale", the line "Acquire this domain instantly at buy-pr.com or via your favorite marketplace", a button reading "Buy at buy-pr.com", and a small block of Moz and Majestic figures. So each unsold domain is a tiny billboard, and the billboards are the backlinks. The referring-domain list therefore reads like a stock list: old church, choir and shop sites on .co.uk and .org.uk, plus names whose wording suggests earlier lives as betting, adult or pharma sites. It also explains why .uk (17 of the top 100) edges out .com (15).
Timing. 86 of the top 100 referrers were first seen between January and March 2026, 47 of them in February. In crawl data this looks like one rollout, not slow accumulation.
Experiment 3: the DR 4 megaphone
The biggest single referrer is vsestanki.com: DR 4, 1,231 links from 297 pages, 21.3% of everything. Its anchors are odd. "Home" appears 304 times, "create an account" 302, "log in" 302, "sort ascending" 60 and "sort descending" 34. Together that is 1,002 anchors, or 17.3% of the whole profile, and every one of them is a menu or table label from Buy-PR.com's own pages. The shop's logo file also has 304 backlinks.
The reading that fits is that a copy of Buy-PR.com's pages was being served from another host, and our crawl followed the copy's links back. That is an inference from anchors. We did not see the copy: vsestanki.com did not answer a HEAD request when we tried, and our index last saw it on 2026-05-12.
Control. The second row of the referrer list is "co.uk" with 184 links, and "org.uk" with 28 further down. These are public suffixes, an artefact of how some .uk hosts get grouped, not websites. We left them out of every count that mentions sites.
Why it matters for a buyer. Strip vsestanki.com and the banner family out and roughly 2,470 of 5,782 links remain. The raw total of any domain looks different once you ask who supplied it. That question costs nothing: the refdomains action ranks a target's top referrers by link count in one call.
Experiment 4: three listings, two sets of numbers
We took three domains from the shop and put its figures next to our free domain action, run on 2026-10-08.
| Listing | The shop shows | Our index shows |
|---|---|---|
| coach-outletstore.name, $65.00 | Moz DA 67 / PA 48, Majestic TF 24 / CF 32, Ahrefs DR 9 | DR 36, 392 referring domains, 23,117 backlinks |
| minishorts.net (lander) | Moz DA 27 / PA 37, Majestic TF 17 / CF 24, 47 referring domains | DR 21, 34 referring domains, 1,469 backlinks |
| lysine.org, $651.00 | Moz DA 6 / PA 14, TF 19 / CF 21, Ahrefs DR 0, BL count 34 | DR 4, 1 referring domain, 13 backlinks |
Observation 1. On the shop's own row, coach-outletstore.name is DA 67 at Moz, TF 24 at Majestic and DR 9 at Ahrefs. Three providers, three answers, one domain. The shop is not hiding that; it prints all three, and printing all three is the honest way to sell this kind of stock.
Observation 2. The most expensive listing we saw is not the strongest. lysine.org at $651.00 has weak figures on both sides, while the $65.00 row has the big ones. The site does not explain how it prices, so this is our reading only: the top of the price list is not driven by link metrics.
Observation 3. For coach-outletstore.name the shop lists the first 25 referring domains from Moz, mostly Google properties plus t.me and researchgate.net. Our index sees 392 referring domains, 144 of them dofollow. Both views are real, and neither is the whole picture. Hold that thought for the checklist further down.
Where Buy-PR.com is the better choice
Our notebook would be dishonest if it ended here. There are plenty of jobs where Buy-PR.com is simply the right tool and we are not.
- You want to own the domain. We sell no domains and no links. We return data. If the goal is a name with an existing link history, you need a seller, and this is one with fixed prices from $5.00.
- You want three metric families in one row. Moz, Majestic and Ahrefs figures sit side by side in the catalogue, sortable by every column. Our API returns one metric, our own DR, with counts.
- You want Majestic's topical view. The shop groups stock by topical category (Business, Arts, Real Estate and so on) and each detail page has a Topical Trust Flow table. We have no topical scoring.
- You want spam signals. Detail pages show a Moz spam score for each of the first 25 referrers. We have no spam or toxicity score at all.
- You want a person to hand it over. Delivery is a manual push to your registrar account, quoted at 15-20 minutes up to 24 hours. Buying through the registrar marketplace is automatic but carries a 30-day sale lock, per the shop's FAQ.
Stay with Buy-PR.com if the output you need is a domain in your account. Our data is the cheap second opinion that sits next to it, not a replacement for it.
Experiment 5: the check you can run before you pay
The shop's own Terms say metrics "may contain inaccuracies" and that the buyer does the due diligence. So here is the cheapest version of that, using only free actions. Step 1 ran on the three listings above.
- Run
domainon the candidate. It returns DR, backlinks, referring domains, dofollow counts and first and last seen. It is free and needs no key. If the shop's figure says hundreds of referring domains and ours says one, you have found a reason to look closer. - Run
refdomains. Look at who supplies the links, not how many. A single referrer carrying a fifth of the profile is the Experiment 3 shape. - Run
anchors. Menu labels like "log in" or "Home" at the top mean the links are boilerplate, and an anchor profile that is 100% one brand name tells you something different from one that is spread over phrases. - Check first and last seen. A link our crawl last saw months ago may be gone. We refresh roughly monthly, not in real time, so a brand-new link can take weeks to show up.
For a whole shortlist, bulk_dr takes up to 2,000 domains per request. The full catalogue at about 2,438 listings would fit in two requests. The shop's Terms forbid scraping, so feed it domains from your own downloaded list or your own shortlist instead. The calls are documented in the API docs.
What we cannot see. Previous owners, indexing status, penalties, traffic and topical category are all outside our data, and the Terms explicitly decline to guarantee any of them either. A domain that passes our checks has a clean-looking link graph in sample of the public web, which is a narrower claim than a clean domain.
Results table and the small print
Summing up the notebook, with each line tied to an experiment.
| Question | Finding |
|---|---|
| Where do the links come from? | 36.0% from for-sale banners on its own stock (Exp. 2). |
| Is it concentrated? | Yes. vsestanki.com supplies 21.3% (Exp. 3). |
| Do the shop's metrics match ours? | No, and they are not meant to (Exp. 4). |
| Does price follow metrics? | Not at the top of the list, in our reading (Exp. 4). |
The terms are worth reading before you click Buy. Prices are in USD, one payment per domain, with the FAQ stating no extra commission. Renewal fees are paid to your registrar. Payment goes through 2Checkout (PayPal and cards), or manually in USDT or another cryptocurrency on request. And sales are final once delivery is complete: the Terms say no refund, cancellation or return is available after a domain has been pushed. Before delivery, the seller may cancel, offer a replacement or refund.
Domains can be moved to another registrar 60 days after the whois data changes. Homepage dates and prices change often, so treat every figure here as a reading from 2026-10-08.
Next page of the notebook. The same three calls work on any domain, and the link-building tools hub collects the other pages in this series.
